Role Description:
We are seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented volunteers to assist with meal preparation, baking, and related tasks for our programs and special events. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who have a passion for cooking and baking and wish to contribute to the community by providing nutritious and delicious meals to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers in meal and baked goods preparation for programs or events.
- Set tables, serve meals, and provide refreshments to clients if required.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.).
- Comply with health and safety regulations to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
- Uphold client confidentiality and privacy.
- Create a welcoming dining experience.
- Record and submit volunteer hours accurately.
- Demonstrate reliability and punctuality.
- Report to the Volunteer Coordinator as well as the Dietitian and/or Program Coordinator depending on the program or event.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking/baking instructions.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Friendly and positive attitude, with strong teamwork capabilities.
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Genuine interest in meal preparation and baking.
- Experience in meal preparation and baking (preferred, but not required).
- Willingness to undergo WHMIS training (if not certified).
- Food Handler training program completion (preferred).
Role Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Volunteer Driver to join our team and provide transportation for our Seniors Social Program. As a Volunteer Driver, you will be an essential part of our efforts to enhance the quality of life for seniors in our community by ensuring they can attend our valuable programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport clients using CCHC vehicles to and from various program locations within the catchment area.
- Perform basic safety checks, and record-keeping for the vehicle.
- Comply with all traffic regulations and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Complete and manage a driver’s log and vehicle checklists, reporting any issues promptly.
- Fuel vehicles at the end of each assignment.
- Record and submit volunteer hours accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
- Aid riders as needed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communicate effectively with the CCHC regarding any changes or incidents.
- Greet clients and visitors warmly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License with a clean record for at least three years.
- Minimum age of 25 or at least 9 years driving history.
- Proof of insurance.
- No health conditions that impair driving ability.
- Annual driver’s abstract and vulnerable sector police check.
- Friendly, welcoming demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Punctual and able to remain calm in emergencies.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.

Role Description:
As our Social Media Volunteer, you will bring our mission to life online. You will help us reach more people with trusted health information, promote upcoming events and programs, and build a warm, supportive digital community for everyone in our area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design engaging graphics and short videos using tools like Canva.
- Write clear, friendly posts for our platforms on Facebook and Instagram.
- Schedule clinic calendars and keep our website up-to-date.
- Monitor comments and messages to engage kindly with our community.
- Collaborate with staff to highlight health programs, health awareness, and community stories.
Qualifications:
- Experience using major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.).

We are seeking a dedicated Community Fridge Volunteer to keep our neighborhood food share program running smoothly, safely, and well-stocked. You will play a vital role in fighting food insecurity by managing physical inventory and spreading the word about this vital community resource.
Role Description:
As a Community Fridge Volunteer, you are the heartbeat of our food-sharing initiative. You will ensure the fridge remains clean, safe, and stocked with nutritious food while driving local awareness so that those who need food can find it, and those who can give food know how to help.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock the fridge and pantry shelves with fresh produce, meals, and dry goods.
- Organize items by checking expiration dates and discarding spoiled food daily.
- Clean the fridge interior and surrounding area to maintain high health standards.
- Promote the fridge by distributing flyers and sharing updates on local networks.
- Connect with local businesses, grocery stores, and neighbors to secure food donations.
Qualifications:
- Passion for food justice, community care, and reducing food waste.
- Reliability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule for checking the fridge.
- Physical ability to lift food boxes and stand for short periods during restocking.
- Friendly attitude when interacting with donors and community members at the fridge.
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices and nutrition, or a willingness to complete quick training.
Approximately 4 hours per week with possibility of extension.
We are seeking a friendly and welcoming volunteer to support the OASIS Seniors Social Program for older adults. This role is a great opportunity to build meaningful connections, support community-based programming and help older adults stay active and involved.
Role Description:
As an OASIS Program volunteer, you will assist with activities and programs designed to promote social connection, well-being, and community participation among older adults. You will help create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where participants feel comfortable connecting with others, trying new activities and getting involved in their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with setting up, facilitating and cleaning up after OASIS activities/events.
- Welcome participants and help create and friendly and supportive environment.
- Encourage participants to engage in activities and connect with one another.
- Help plan and implement social, educational and wellness activities as needed.
- Provide general program support and promote upcoming activities to encourage increased participation.
Qualifications:
- Interest working with older adults and supporting healthy aging.
- Reliability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.
- Friendly, patient and respectful when interacting with participants.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
