Position: Research Assistant – 1 Position – 37.5 hours per week

8-week contact beginning April 22, 2024 – FUNDING DEPENDENT

Monday-Friday with flexibility to include evening hours

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Research Assistant position for an 8 week contract. Are you a post-secondary student passionate about public health research and looking to make a real impact in the field of opioid use disorder? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Research Assistant to join our dynamic team for a project exploring the effectiveness of Sublocade treatment. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in engaging with individuals with lived experience, conducting literature reviews, performing interviews, and analyzing data to contribute to a groundbreaking study. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain valuable insights into the complexities of opioid use disorder treatment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with individuals with lived experience throughout the study
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews related to Opioid Use Disorder programs
  • Perform in-depth interviews with clients and staff from various agencies
  • Collect, segment, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
  • Prepare technical reports, protocols, and summaries for publication and presentations
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization and contribute to knowledge exchange initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • Was registered as full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and returning in the next academic year to full-time studies• Is a Canadian
  • Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial regulations
  • Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree with an interest in public health research.
  • Strong skills in English, adaptability, collaboration, communication, creativity, and innovation.
  • Proficiency in computer use and various software applications.
  • Experience in report preparation is an asset.
  • A second language is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of computer programs including previous experience with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to maintain a professional attitude at all times
  • Able to respond in a positive way to demanding issues and project a welcoming, friendly personality
  • Completion of a Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector check prior to commencing employment is required
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence is an asset

Compensation: $20 per hour

The receptionist will be the first point of contact and will ensure the efficient and effective operations of the reception area. They will ensure a professional presence is presented to all who visit or deal with the CCHC, and ensure clients and other visitors feel welcome, safe and comfortable while visiting. Schedule client appointments and referrals as directed and maintain client records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • Was registered as full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and returning in the next academic year to full-time studies
  • Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
  • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial regulations
  • Field of study: Medical Office Administration or equivalent
  • Customer Service experience an asset
  • Strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills, combined with strength in critical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Solid knowledge of computer programs including previous experience with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to maintain a professional attitude at all times

Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a temporary Administrative Assistant position for an 8 week contract. The Administrative Assistant provides support with the delivery of partnership-based health promotion programs and community events. They support the Program Coordinator in their role as a key contact for clients, volunteers, community members, partners, funders, and others who connect with of the Central Community Health Centre (CCHC). Support Program Coordinator with research and evaluation of community programs. Assisting the Program Coordinator with set up and take down for programs and events as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • Was registered as full-time post-secondary student during the preceding academic year and returning in the next academic year to full-time studies
  • Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;

Position: Medical Receptionist – Casual – 4 to 37.5 hours per week as needed, flexible to include evening hours

Job Description:

The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for Central Community Health Centre (CCHC) and ensures the efficient and effective operations of the reception area(s), ensures a professional presence is presented to all who visit or deal with the CCHC, ensures clients and other visitors feel welcome, safe and comfortable while visiting, and acts as a customer service contact for all team members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets in a friendly and professional manner all clients and other visitors, in person and on the telephone
  • and directs them to the appropriate team members.
  • Promotes CCHC, informing clients and community members of available services and programs.
  • Maintains client records, manually and/or electronically.
  • Maintains service providers’ schedules.
  • Receives incoming mail, coordinates distribution, and processes outgoing mail.
  • Opens and closes Centre daily, ensuring the security of the buildings and premises.

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years’ customer service experience
  • Three years’ office experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications and office equipment
  • Experience with reporting software required by OH and MOHLTC is an asset.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, to always maintain a professional attitude, to respond in a
  • positive way to demanding issues, and to project a welcoming, friendly personality.
  • A second language is an asset.
  • Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma is an asset

Compensation: Salary Range: $19.50 to $21.80 per hour, 4% vacation pay.

Position: Chiropodist – Permanent Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week

Region: Central Elgin, St. Thomas and Southwold Township

Job Description:

CCHC is seeking a Full Time Chiropodist to perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education, counselling, and other clinical foot care activities according to the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.  The Chiropodist acts as an advocate on behalf of CCHC’s target population, promoting health equity for all.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures chiropody resources, materials and equipment are maintained
  • Contributes to chart documentation, participates in chart reviews and case conferences, and makes referrals to other health care providers where appropriate
  • Participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counseling and health promotion programs for individuals, families, and the community
  • Other duties as may from time to time be assigned
  • Participates in staff development and team meetings as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized school of chiropody
  • Current registration with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario without limitations
  • Experience as a chiropodist in a community health or hospital setting preferred
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation an asset
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications, including software used by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, to always maintain a professional attitude, to respond in a positive way to demanding issues, and to project a welcoming, friendly personality
  • A second language is an asset
  • Experience working with clients who have experienced trauma is an asset.

Position: Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Part-Time – 20 hours per week / 3 days

Region: Central Elgin, St. Thomas and Southwold Township

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join CCHC as part of our Chronic Disease Management team.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Practical Nurse diploma from a recognized institution 
  • Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical practice; community health environment experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, strength in critical thinking and problem solving 
  • Solid computer skills including previous experience with an EMR (Electronic Medical Record)
  • Flexibility to work variable hours
  • Positive and friendly demeanor, with the ability to handle demanding situations effectively
  • Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing employment is required
  • Experience in chronic disease management and senior care is desirable
  • Foot care and wound care experience is a plus
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license is beneficial
  • Proficiency in Low German is considered an advantage
